This reaping hook was among a cluster of metal tools found together, perhaps stacked neatly against the wall of the broch and left to burn as fire took hold.

Metal finds are rare on Iron Age sites and, once removed from the ground, they require lots of careful attention to ensure their condition remains stable going fowards.

This robust socketed adze would have been used for shaping wood.

This lunate scraper was recovered alongside the socketed adze, joined together by corrosion. Lunate scrapers were used in hide-working, preparing animal skins for reuse.

Identification of this axehead relied heavily on X-rays to reveal the shape of the original object, obscured by layers of corrosion.
